Misisonaries

We're so glad when Kathryn comes home, glad as we can be!  Clap our hands and shout for joy and climb upon her knee (ok, not really)!  Put our arms around her neck, hug her tight like this!!!  Pat her cheeks and give her what??  A great big KISS!

That's right folks, Lawrence's sister, Kathryn, has completed her 18-month mission to Knoxville, Tennessee and will be returning home today.  We are all so proud of her and so excited to see her and hear her speak this weekend.  Unfortunately Lawrence's work schedule won't permit for us to be present when she disembarks her airplane, but we are still super excited.

With this in mind, today I am thankful for all those, young and old, who give of their time and energies to serve the missionary effort of the LDS church.  They are out, often far from home, teaching and helping strangers come closer to their Savior, Jesus Christ.  I think about how scary it is for me to open my mouth and share my testimony and knowledge of this church, even with people I am familiar with and it makes me even more grateful for these people and their sacrifices.

Also serving in the mission field from my family are three of my cousins, Sarah, Rhett, and Ryan, and my maternal grandparents, along with many friends and extended family members.  I am so thankful to be a part of this church and look forward to the day when Lawrence and I can join this army of missionaries to help others.
