Our Family

This is us! Lawrence and Melissa met in 2007 while attending school at Brigham Young University in Idaho (BYUI) and working at Walmart. We were married for time and all eternity on July 22, 2008 in the Mt. Timpanogos temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In November 2009 we welcomed our first child, Mary Ethne, into the world. She was soon followed by a brother, Mr. E, at the end of June 2011. February 6, 2012 our world was turned upside down by a tragic car accident that severely injured Melissa, and ended Ethne’s short earthly journey. Since the accident we have welcomed two more living children, Warrior J (2013), and Princess A (2016), and our Tiny Thomas, who was born into Heaven September 2017. We are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints trying to live our best lives while building our faith, grieving our children, playing with our dogs, and homeschooling.

Melissa (me): Grew up in West Jordan Utah with my parents and brother. I graduated from Copper Hills High School in 2005 and started college at SUU that fall, pursuing a degree in music education. In 2007 I transferred to BYUI, still studying music. I am now a stay at home, homeschooling mom, and loving (almost) every minute of it.

Lawrence: Grew up in Parker, Idaho with his parents and three sisters. He graduated from South Fremont High School in 2002. From January 2003-2005 he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Chihuahua, Mexico. After that he attended school at BYUI where he tried out several programs and finally landed in Jazz (music) studies. Lawrence currently works as a sales representative at Carmax (Utah) and plays with the local band Rythym Junction.

Ethne (eth-knee): Born November 2009, died February 6, 2012. Was a spunky red-head who loved people, especially her parents, brother, and cousin. She had a contagious giggle, loved to sing and dance, had a propensity for mischief, enjoyed chocolate toast, and loved all things minions (Despicable Me) and Ariel.

Mr. E: Born June 2011, is a happy boy who loves to joke, play, and have a good time. He is active

both in body and imagination and keeps Mom on her toes with his ambition and practical jokes. E enjoys most of the typical boy things like cars, sports, and dirt, but is also developing his talents on the piano and as an artist.







Mr. J: Born Dec. 2013 with a rare condition called Hirschprung’s Disease. He is brave and patient in the face of challenges and has overcome many in his life. He is sensitive to others and his environment, thoughtful, and clever. He enjoys many more quiet activities like puzzles, and reading, but can also be up for a good wrestle or game of soccer.









Princess A: Born May 2016 is the embodiement of her nickname. She loves all things sparkly, pink, fluffy, and girly, but can hold her own with her two older brothers. She has a vivid imagination, silly smile, caring heart, is super curious, and her happiness radiates to everyone she meets.










Tiny Thomas: Was born into Heaven September 2017 at 18 weeks gestation. His is a rare loss, not quite a miscarriage, not quite a stillbirth, and though we didn’t get to meet him in this life, we look forward to the day we will get to know and hold him.
