Mormon.org

As we have worked on this blog and posted about our experience we have received some feedback about how people who have felt comfort and even improved their lives as they have felt some of the spirit and inspiration of our experiences.  This is great news for us because we want to know that we are making a positive difference in someones life.  We want to know that our experiences have brought you closer with your family, motivated you to go back to church, or even just remember how precious life really is.  In this post I am going to do 2 things.

First, we want some feedback on what you have enjoyed about our experience.  Tell us what specific stories have inspired you.  We even want to know how these stories have enriched your lives.  I have created an E-mail account that you can send us these experiences.  These experiences are just for Melissa, me, and our family.  We will not go around sharing them with anyone else without your permission.  The E-mail address is: rememberingethne@gmail.com.  We only want uplifting experiences, so please do not send us anything offensive or destructive.


Second, this is something that I have thought about off and on for the last year and a half or so, to offer you more information about our beliefs that have help keep us hopeful and carry us through this difficult experience.  


I was recently relistening to a talk given by Elder Russell M. Nelson from the October 2010 General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.   He stated:

"Scripture tells us that “there are many yet on the earth … who are only kept from the truth because they know not where to find it.”  Isn’t that your opportunity? You can become their own disciple of discovery!

"Now in this day of the Internet, there are new and exciting ways you can do missionary work. You can invite friends and neighbors to visit the new mormon.org Web site. If you have blogs and online social networks, you could link your sites to mormon.org. And there you can create your own personal profile. Each profile includes an expression of belief, an experience, and a testimony. Because this is a new feature, most of these profiles are available in English. Profiles in other languages will follow."

I remember thinking I needed to do that when he first said it and never getting it done.  I listened to it again and I thought to myself I need to create a link on the blog sending people who read about our experience with loosing Ethne and want to know more to mormon.org so they might be able to learn more about our beliefs from there.  


Then yesterday in church we were talking about missionary work and someone brought up the point about creating a profile on mormon.org to share our testimony and even answer questions that people may have.  So I decided that I need to create my own profile to share as well.  Below you will find a link to mormon.org as well as my own profile.  I am still working on adding things to it, but if you have some questions I hope these sires will help you with some answers.  Thanks.
