Stop, Listen to the Music

We need to stop and listen to the music.

It has been two weeks since the passing of our precious, little redhead.

Melissa and Lawrence went back to their apartment for the first time tonight. Among all of the reminders, Melissa made the comment that she missed hearing Ethne pushing her cart down the hall. Lawrence reminded her that that sound used to drive her nuts. This is the music I am talking about.

A few days ago, Gabriel and Isaac were sitting at the kitchen island eating lunch. I am not sure what ensued, but Isaac started crying. I am sure that Gabriel did some little thing to him. I had the thougt that I should find some joy in this. This episode of sibling rivalry means that there is a normal bond between these two brothers.

We need to stop and hear the music. The spouse that is keeping us awake with their snoring, the sound of little feet running through the house, those two dreaded words, "Oh-Oh!", and on and on. Enjoy it! It means that things are as they should be. We never know when we will not hear that song again.

Thank you for this great little reminder!! As a parent with 4 small children...that seem to fight all the time & a wife to a wonderful husband... that snores every night, I need to be more greatful for all the "music" my family brings to my ears & the many blessings in my life!

Yes, I find I am treasuring all the "music" more--"For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."

Lately I found myself doing that same thing being greatful for EVERYTHING good or bad, happy or sad, annoying or comforting. I am thankful that God's mercies are new every morning. Enjoyed finally being able to visit with your family.

Scott this is perfect. I love the music, with our house emptying faster than it is refilling, I appreciate the music more and more, but most of all I love that I can go find music at 10:00 at Gabe's house when he is willing to play Mario Cart with a crazy aunt.

What kind of mom are you?

A few days ago my sweet friend over at The-Good-Steward  shared a post from another blogger mom about what kind of mom she is.  I was inspir...
