Firsts
Thou shalt live together in love, insomuch that thou shalt weep for the loss of them that die.... (D&C 42:45)
As we go through life we mark milestones that we often call "firsts".
First words, first tooth, first steps and on and on.
We, along with Melissa and Lawrence celebrated many firsts with Ethne, first birthday, first Christmas and so many others. Now we will have to face many new firsts with our her present. While we need to move forward and continue to celebrate special occasions, it is ok to feel sadness and loss. It is part of being human. Laman and Lemuel became "past feeling" and as a result fell away from the Lord. Having tender feelings helps us to stay in touch with heaven and those we love.
Because we live together in love, Melissa and Lawrence, know that there are many who sorrow with you, and will continue to do so as we move forward and meet these new "firsts" as they come. One at a time. We have many memories that will bring us comfort and joy.
