From Lawrence
Just to let everyone know what is going on. Melissa continues to improve every day. Yesterday they gave her some liquids, including Jello, so she would have something to eat. She sat up by herself, and they have moved her from the surgical ICU to the regular ICU. The rooms were literally across from each other, but at least we know she's taking steps in the right direction. Edward is still doing great. He's been spending time at his grandparents while I've been here with Melissa. She has been able to see and hold him. Just FYI -we still don't have a date set for Ethne's funeral, but it will be some time next week. I just want to thank everyone for the thoughts and prayers that have been offered on our behalf. While the pain won't completely go away, that support has blessed our lives to be able to tolerate the pain. We ask that while you are praying for our family, please also remember the driver of the truck. We have been told that he has not sustained any physical injuries, but is very torn up emotionally. Please remember him as well in your prayers. Thank you to everyone, and we love you all!

My heart is broken for your family. We are praying for you all to be comforted during this difficult time, and praying for Melissa to recover from her injuries. I wish there was more we could do, but for now we will do this.
Lawrence and Melissa,
Reading this blog has been an amazing eye opening experience for me. You two are incredible people, very loving and strong. What an amazing example you are! If there is anything I can do, please let me know and I will jump right on it.
One more note...if you could only see the outpouring of love from our students... I can't wait to share those things with you both! Love you,
Emily
I just found your blog, and am praying for you. I just wanted to say how amazing I think it is that you have requested prayer for the driver of the truck. That truly speaks to what amazing people you are. May God bless you with comfort during this horrible time. May He find a way to give you some sense of peace.
