The beginning....

The accident happened around 4:30 pm yesterday, February 6th.  For Melissa and Lawrence, life will never be the same.  Melissa and Ethne were life-flighted to the hospital, and Edward was taken by ambulance to the hospital.  Melissa was taken directly into surgery.  Edward received the least amount of the impact and as of right now is safe in the loving arms of his daddy and both sets of grandparents.  Ethne has returned to the loving arms of our Heavenly Father.  There is no doubt that she and many angels are close at hand comforting her family at this time.  Her sweet angelic face and voice will be sorely missed...

Melissa has a very long road of recovery ahead.  The physical recovery is the obvious, but for Lawrence, Melissa, their parents, and all those who love Ethne with every fiber of their being, the emotional road will be much longer and harder to climb.

This blog has been set up to keep everyone informed (as best we can) on Melissa's recovery and to let everyone know that our Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers.  In an effort to show our love and support, there has been an account set up to help Melissa and Lawrence.  If this is something you would like to do, please click on the link in the right sidebar for more information.

The Lord’s tender mercies are the very personal and individualized blessings, strength, protection, assurances, guidance, loving-kindnesses, consolation, support, and spiritual gifts which we receive from and because of and through the Lord Jesus Christ. Truly, the Lord suits “his mercies according to the conditions of the children of men”

Lawrence and Melissa,

We are with you in spirit and thought. Our prayers do not seem adequate, but hope that they will give you comfort. There is not a piece of our hearts that does not ache for you. Your love for Ethne, Edward, and each other has always been so evident. We thank you for showing and sharing it with us all.

Dearest Scott, Shauna na, and family......Love you all so much! Wish I could be there instead of so far away. I would love to be the one to bring you a meal/loaf of bread, or to babysit, or clean or do whatever I could to lighten your burden.....Yet nothing can fill the ache of missing a precious little one.... My family and I are praying for you. I told a few friends and they have all put your family on the prayer chains at their churches...love from Sue b b b

My heart aches, but I'm comforted to know that God also lost two of his children, one physically and one spiritually; and because of the physical death, we may all receive his tender mercy of the resurrection and be together forever.

May He bless.you in the coming days, weeks, and months as your hearts and bodies mend.

Lawrence and Melissa, My heart broke for you when I heard the news. Im truely sorry for the loss of your precious little girl. I know you will find comfort in knowing that shes with our Father in Heaven and our savior Jesus Christ but that does not fill your arms or your heart. The lord will comfort you if you let him. Its a horrible nightmare to go though but there is light at the end of the dark tunnel. You must be so very proud to be this precious childs earthly parents. Hold tight to the knowledge that you will be reunited with her in your eternal family. My thoughts and prayers go out to you both and to the grandparents.

Dear Stone Family, My heart has been broken for you ever since I heard about the tragedy and I have been praying for you all ever since many times a day. The Humphreys have been such dear, dear friends to us for many years. I still treasure the days when Melissa would come to my house and do so many sweet things for me before she went to college. Im so thankful for the knowledge of the gospel that we will all be together again. I know your sweet daughter is watching over you all. I also know the power of prayer is great, and the Lord will give you much strength and comfort during this difficult time. Our prayers will definately continue for all of you.
Love you, Bobbi Sue Sieverts

Your Aunt Debbie wrote me about your loss. My heart feels it with you. You will be in my prayers. I told you aunt about a blog I started after my little girl passed away in a tragic accident. It is for parents who have lost young children born living. it is a private blog where you can connect with others who know what you are going through. Everyone is an author so you can post your questions or feelings and get responses from those who have been there or who are there now.

Email me if you want an invite to it at stephaniewaite at gmail dot com. also you should check out the blog of packoffixations.blogspot.com. she was in a car accident with her 2 kids on christmas eve and lost her 1 year old that day. She is having to struggle with the physical and emotional injuries just like you are. I found a friend who had a pretty similar circumstance as me weeks after my daughter died and we have become close friends. she is my girl and we totally get each other because we have walked this road together. her son died the same week as my daughter and was just a couple months younger.

May the Lord bless you with the peace that only He can bring in such times,
Stephanie
